The sculptures I create are an extension of my attentive mind, mapped strategically and fluid in movement.  Often I explore parts of my mind seeking answers from the past, recognizing the present, and always trying to connect the two.  My desire to weave and layer objects aids in the exploratory process.  This physical practice allows me to transform a mixture of raw emotions and memories into my work.  This emotional pull influences me to gather materials from nature such as sticks, found and salvaged.  The sticks are like an extension of my body grasping for stability, hungry for connections and commitment.

It is essential that I feel linked with my materials; this strong connection invokes the primitive part of my spiritual construction.  As my hands weave the material - my body sways with the movement – it comforts and assures my place in this world.  This helps me work through emotional mapping, recollecting memory, and visual language, creating a magical stream of consciousness.

I’m inspired by the likes of Barbara Hepworth and Patrick Dougherty, and the ability to raise feeling through their work.  Similarly, my desire is to invite those to move closer and capture a glimpse of emotionalism.
